When my late husband retired he asked what I would like as my gift for having been ‘his great supporting act’.  My response was my own knitwear business!  I’d knitted since I was 5 years old and loved yarn and colour, which I still do.  I designed and made patterns, joining Made in Cumbria and exhibited far and wide. 

Having then been widowed, I sought another all-absorbing hobby.  I joined a beginners drawing and painting class at Dallam. 

I’m now married to an Artist.  He’s good but fortunately there’s no competition between us as he does landscapes while I attempt Northumbrian seascapes.

As an eclectic hangover from the knitwear, I now paint flora and fauna, mainly for cards and prints from the original paintings.
