NOT EXHIBITING IN 2024
Julia Baker

Painter
I have waited the majority of my adult life to be able to paint. I loved art classes at school and my rather crazy and enthusiastic art teacher. I even had a hankering to go to art school but eventually a career in hotel management beckoned and for around 45 years I was a hotelier, a job and life that I loved. I retired a few years ago and immediately treated myself to paints, papers, pens and canvasses and got cracking.
I use watercolour and oil paint and try to draw or paint something every day, usually landscapes of places I love or inspire me – pen and ink drawings, family pets and lately my Grandchildren’s portraits.
I often wake up in the night with an idea and have to have a go at painting it. I hope you enjoy looking at my art.
