Inspired by the mountains of the Lake District, my playground for over 50 years, I try and portray in paint not only what I see but also what I feel. An impossible task.

I also practice with life drawing which, to me, has forms and shapes which echo those of mountain landscape. 

My landscape paintings are generally on the large side, my life drawings less so. 

I’ve been painting and drawing on and off for most of my life but with more commitment for the last 25 years that I have lived in the Lake District. I have had my my own solo exhibitions and also group exhibitions with Independent Cockermouth Artists. I’ve exhibited at venues including The Theatre by the Lake, The Kirkgate Centre, Upfront Gallery, Percy House Gallery, Northern Lights, Thornthwaite Gallery and The Beacon. I have also exhibited with The Lakes Artists Society at their Summer Exhibitions in Grasmere and Rheged.
